Time Tunnel strikes again

Time Tunnel 2009 showcases the best of national talent in live elektronica and top DJ's. Main Room with two line acts: TV OFF & Ka So Re and a blazing party set by no other than Top Billin posse. B/EAT/Z club with local top DJ's Lasa and Sektori with a special guest spot by DJ 3rrd. Oulu Soul bar those who like their music raw and black - from sweet soul harmonics to gritty funk. Meet DJ's Yari and Jyri-x.

Live


Eero Johannes is a one-man synthetic funk orchestra. His background as a drummer and a bassist has a fundamental part in building the electronic, "sugarhigh" grooves for the dancefloor.

His live performance, always partially improvised, indeed will make both girls' and boys' hearts throb. He's all about crisp electronic cuteness; bass of grime, Miami and chic; topping it off with a keytar serenade. His critically acclaimed debut album was released in September 2008 at Planet Mu Records. Live set will be coated his own visuals.

Helsinki based electropop-duo TV OFF combines pop sounds with sinister, yet smooth sounding vocals. "Sophie Ellis Bextor meets Moby" someone described their music. TV OFF is Sara Marjoniemi, a colourful singer with a hyperactive streak and Markku Mäkelä, a songwriter with a history.

TV OFF have just toured in Japan and UK and at the present finishing off their first album after several single releases. Candy for your ears and eyes with sweet sounds and yummy graphics. Get an earful and a mouthful of TV OFF in Time Tunnel!

KA SO RE started in 2008 as a solo project of Juuso Malin, a Helsinki-based musician. After numerous live shows and Gaea Records -released Petite EP (which gained praise from internet bloggers and record critics alike), KA SO RE became a duo when multi-instrumentalist Henri Seger joined in.

The band combines influences all the way from 80's new wave and house to rock and roll, mixing it all together to form modern kind of dance music.

Top Billin has rocked the houses from Paris to Berlin and Moscow to New York and they have shared the stage with Justice, M.I.A, Cosmo Baker and Tittsworth to name but a few. Their only mission is to make a club a happy place again.

Top Billin has become a well oiled party machine, and in Time Tunnel Sir Nenis and & J-Laini show you why. TB is the closest thing to club phenomenon ever to emerge from Finland. Ask anybody. While others talk the talk, they walk the damn walk.

Superia United is a finnish VJ alliance of talented visual artists. Lately they have been working with the interactive visuals and installations. Parts of these interactive technologies are used also in the Time Tunnel. Trough years of experience of blasting the audiences with imaginary worlds of visual flows they will mix out the ascent emotions to the screens of Time Tunnel.

Since late nineties Dj 3rrd has been one of Helsinki´s tastemaker dj´s, with wide selection of styles to make any dancefloor sweat. Dj 3rrd´s contribution to Finnish house scene is "House Party Helsinki"-collective, with seasoned veterans Dj´s Lil Tony, Tomi K and Smoodie. In addition to his hectic dj-schedule comes the daily routine at Basso TV and radio.

Behind the decks his devotion to the rhythm cannot be mistaken. Deep and soulful beats straight from the heart. With Dj 3rrd on the 1´s and 2´s, everybody´s got a shelter.

Lasse "Lasa" Hyttinen is better known as a street dancer and has won multiple national championships in hip hop and house dance competitions. But it doesn’t end here... Lasa has also spun records for over 10 yrs alongside with his dance career. His usual sets consist of anything from r’n’b to elektro, from funk to house and in Time Tunnel he will dive into deep end of soulful house with a hint of broken beats and nu jazz flavas.

TANE LEE, a cool young cat from Oulu, moved to Helsinki last year.   Despite of his young age he soon played at some of the biggest venues   in Helsinki (Redrum, Kuudes Linja --) and put out the third mix in   Top Billin's disco / house themed Nightrunners series. Nowadays he's   blogging with Top Billin and doing gigs around Helsinki.
Now Tane Lee is coming back to his home town. Expect some serious   disco and house action plus some of that sweet back-in-oulu love. Tane will host main hall.

Dj Jyri-X is back in business after a hectic year away from soul scene. His main interests are sister funk and action soul, but also latin, boogaloo and x-over will be heard in his sets. Jyri-X was also the man behind Intro Funk nights (with DJs A.lahti and Yari) in Kuopio for well over four years.

OuluSoul Bar host dj Yari is still looking for pieces of rare plastic records called soul 45s. Soul music in all its forms, funk, jazz, latin and an occasional disco bomb form a basis of his sets. Don’t be surprised if you hear an obscure, old finnish soul track when he’s behind the decks. Enjoy... we know he will.

Time Tunnel 2009 will take place in Oulu City theatre and vacates three separate venues for main room action, b-eat-z club and OuluSoul Bar. The fully licensed bars will serve in two floors and there will also be a temporary bar set up for our convenience.

Smoking is prohibited inside the theater building but there will be a smoking area arranged outside.

We applaud you all for job very well done.

We have already had some feedback but we need all of you to send us more suggestions, feedback and pointers on how to make Time Tunnel even better. Constructive criticism is always appreciated as well, so don't hold back.
